Masala broccoli recipe is very simple and tasty vegan curry recipe that goes well with chapati or with rice.
Broccoli is an exotic and most nutritious vegetable. It is a good source of dietary fiber, vitamins, potassium, calcium, and iron. Including in a regular diet to lowers the risk of diabetes, heart disease and cancer.
For preparing masala broccoli I used broccoli, onion, tomato, green chili, poppy seeds and some Indian spices.
I am cooking broccoli in a unique way florets are sauted with salt and later mixed in onion-tomato gravey.

Ingredients
1 cup broccoli florets.
2 medium size roughly chopped tomatoes.
1 large size roughly chopped onion.
2 -3 roughly chopped green chili.
2 tsp poppy seeds.
1 tsp cumin seeds.
½ tsp fennel seeds.
5-6 black pepper.
1 bay leaf.
2 whole red chili.
A pinch of asafoetida.
½ tsp coriander powder.
½ tsp red chili powder.
¼ tsp turmeric powder.
½ tsp garam masala powder(optional).
Required salt.
Required oil.
How to Cook Masala Broccoli
1.Firstly heat 2 tsp oil in pan on medium flame and add washed broccoli florets with ¼ tsp salt. Mix well and cook for 4-5 minutes.
2.In the same pan heat 4 tsp oil on medium flame, add ½ tsp cumin seeds, fennel seeds, poppy seeds and black pepper. Allow to crackle.
3.Now add roughly chopped onion and green chili.
4.After 2 minutes add roughly chopped tomatoes and cook for 2 minutes.
5.Once cooked then add in a mixer grinder and make a smooth paste.
6.Heat 1 tbsp oil in the same pan on medium flame, add bay leaf, cumin seeds, red chiilis and asafoetida.
7.When crackled then add onion-tomato paste and cook until oil starts to leave on sides.
8.Now add coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder and required salt. Mix well.
9.Add cooked broccoli florets.
10.Mix well with ¼ cup of water and cook for 2 minutes.
11.When it done then add garam masala powder and cook for few seconds.
12.Serve healthy, hot and spicy Masala Broccoli with chapati or rice.
